LYTTON, B.C. — Lillooet RCMP are investigating after two people died in a crash on the Trans Canada Highway between Lytton and Spences Bridge.
In a news release, police say they were told of a crash between a motorcycle and an SUV on the stretch of Highway 1 at around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday (July 4). Police say both occupants on the motorcycle succumbed to their injuries after bystanders reportedly provided first aid.
“It is too early in the investigation to determine causal factors, but early indications suggest that the motorcycle may have crossed the centre line where it impacted the SUV,” RCMP state.
DriveBC reported the stretch of Highway 1 reopened at around 11 p.m. Tuesday. No further information from police is available at this time.
