NorthPaws swept in Victoria, prepare for home opener against Portland
VICTORIA — The Kamloops NorthPaws are returning home without a win to start the 2023 West Coast League season.
The NorthPaws were swept by the Victoria Harbourcats on the road following a 4-3 loss Sunday (June 4). It comes after a 13-3 loss in their season opener Friday and a 6-4 loss Saturday.
In the series finale Sunday, the NorthPaws were up 3-0 in the bottom of the eighth inning but gave up two runs. In the bottom of the ninth, the Harbourcats loaded the bases with no outs before hitting a walk off single.
Despite the three losses to start the season, Keith Francis – NorthPaws head coach – says he didn’t believe his players were too nervous.
