TRU Wolfpack sign eighth basketball recruit

KAMLOOPS — The TRU Wolfpack Women’s basketball team will not be short of new faces and new energy when the 2023-24 season kicks of this fall. Head Coach Todd Warnick announced on Friday (June 2) his eighth recruit of the offseason, with Grace Hansen from Magrath, Alberta joining the squad.

“Grace brings great character and basketball IQ to our program,” said Warnick. “The greatest contribution we look forward to from Grace is her desire and dedication to get better every day as well as her endless work ethic on the court and in the classroom.”

A 5-8 guard, Hansen starred for Magrath High School. Athlete of the Year for Magrath in 2022, Hansen is also a two-time 4A Girls Basketball Southern Alberta League First Team All-Star.

“I chose TRU because of the relationship I developed with Coach Warnick and how much he believes in me as a player,” said Hansen. “He’s given me an incredible opportunity to help build the program with him. Once I had an opportunity to visit Kamloops and see what a great community it is, I was sold.”
