KAMLOOPS — The woman injured in a shooting Sunday (May 21) at a home along Valhalla Drive on the North Shore has died from her injuries.

In a news release issued Friday, RCMP say the woman was taken off life support Friday morning and succumbed to her injuries.

“This is a sad outcome to an act of violence now deemed a homicide,” said Superintendent Jeff Pelley, the Kamloops RCMP Detachment’s Officer in Charge. “Resources from our Serious Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Service Unit, General Investigation Support Team, Crime Reduction Unit, and frontline officers continue to progress the investigation.”

Kamloops RCMP say they and paramedics were called to the home in the 800-block of Valhalla Drive shortly after 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident and say the parties involved were known to each other. Investigators have not released any further details, saying the strategy is being taken to protect the investigation.

Investigators are continuing to ask the public to come forward with any information they may have. Those with information can call the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at (250) 828-3000 and reference file 2023-17869.
