Cache Creek lifts evacuation order for mobile home park; some properties involved in flooding deemed unliveable
CACHE CREEK, B.C. — The Village of Cache Creek lifted its evacuation order for the Sage and Sands Mobile Home Park at 701 Trans Canada Highway.
However, properties along the creek and river are still on evacuation alert, and the village says three properties involved in the flooding have been deemed to be unliveable as they are now.
In a public safety notice Thursday night (May 18), Wendy Coomber, Cache Creek Emergency Operations Centre information officer, says water levels in the river continue to decline slowly but it continues to run high and fast. As of Friday morning, the BC River Forecast Centre has the Bonaparte River below Cache Creek under a flood watch.
