KAMLOOPS — The B.C. River Forecast Centre has upgraded the Shuswap River to a flood watch stage.

In a bulletin posted Thursday morning (May 18), the province says the river is flowing at a 2-year high rate now, but is expected to rise to a 5-year rate over the weekend.

All the South Thompson River tributaries, including the Shuswap River, are expected to continue rising over the coming days, and the South Thompson remains at high streamflow advisory stage.

Elsewhere in the province, conditions are beginning to ease.
