Missing kayaker found dead near Chase

CHASE, B.C. — RCMP say a missing kayaker near Chase has been found dead.
In a news release, Chase RCMP say on Sunday afternoon (May 14) at about 4:00 p.m., officers were alerted to a kayaker in distress on Chase Creek.
Witnesses told RCMP the man was seen clinging to a capsized kayak as it was swept toward the South Thompson River.
Police teamed up with Shuswap Search and Rescue to conduct an extensive search Sunday evening. Kamloops Search and Rescue volunteers joined on Monday morning.
