High streamflow advisories issued for South Thompson, Shuswap regions
KAMLOOPS — The B.C. River Forecast Centre has put the Kamloops and Shuswap regions on alert, thanks to rapidly rising rivers.
Monday afternoon (May 15), forecasters issued high streamflow advisories for the Shuswap region, South Thompson River and Secwepemc territory, including the communities of Chase, Tk’emlups, Salmon Arm, Sicamous and Enderby.
The North Thompson and Nicola regions were already on advisory, while Guichon Creek has been downgraded from flood watch to high streamflow advisory.
The Lower Thompson region, which includes the Bonaparte River and Cache Creek, has been lowered from flood warning to flood watch stage.
