Accompanied by child, man steals items from Valleyview store

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are looking to track down a man who stole several items from a Valleyview store, with a school-aged boy in tow.

The theft happened Wednesday (May 10) at about 10:35 a.m., at a business in Valleyview Square in the 2100-block of the East Trans Canada Highway.

The man walked out of the store with several items, including a red Fill-Rite fuel pump and a pair of shears. He left the area in a white Ford F250 with license plate stolen out of Merritt.

“The suspect was in the company of a school-age boy, approximately eight to 10 years old,” said detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn. “We are releasing an image of the suspect and a non-identifying image of the boy, in hopes that someone from the public will recognize them and contact police so that we may further the investigation.”

  • Late 20s or early 30s
  • Wearing an orange hoodie with a white logo on the left chest, a ball cap with sunglasses on top, dark pants and grey shoes

Child description

  • White
  • 8-to-10 years old
  • Light coloured hair
  • Dressed in dark clothing and a hoodie with a red logo on the left
