Blazers can’t hang on to lead, fall to Thunderbirds 4-3 OT in game two
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers were unable to take home ice advantage away from the Seattle Thunderbirds over the weekend.
After a 5-1 loss in game one of the Western Hockey League (WHL) Western Conference Finals the night prior, the Blazers were heartbroken in a 4-3 overtime loss in game two Sunday (April 30).
The Blazers opened the scoring in the final minute of the first period with Logan Stankoven getting a rebound and completing a backhand pass to Caedan Bankier net front. Kamloops expanded their lead within the first minute as well as the defenceman Olen Zellweger rushed to the front of the net on the power play to put the rebound home.
