KAMLOOPS – Western Canada Theatre is finishing its season on a positive note – or really 100,000 positive notes.

Every Brilliant Thing is set to open next week at the Pavilion Theatre.

“It’s a play about all the wonderful, sometimes ordinary things in like that make life worth living,” said the play’s director, Estelle Shook. “It’s told by a master storyteller who uses everything in the room, including the audience, to tell the story.”

The one-woman show is done in the round and while the narrator tells the story, those in the audience are cast as characters in her life.

“That liveness, that feeling that we are all creating this show together, is miraculous,” Dawn Petten, the show’s narrator, told CFJC News. “Every show is different and live and community-minded, and it’s a beautiful thing to be in a room with people, where we all are participating. It’s exactly what we need coming out of where we’ve been with the pandemic.”

Every Brilliant Thing runs from May 4 to 13 at the Pavilion Theatre. Tickets can be purchased online, or in person through Kamloops Live! Box Office.
