Two men arrested then sent to hospital after bear spray attack in Salmon Arm
SALMON ARM, B.C. — Two men were arrested after a reported bear spray attack in Salmon Arm early Wednesday (April 19) morning.
In a news release, Salmon Arm RCMP say they were called to Beatty Avenue at around 3:00 a.m. after three people reportedly arrived at the end of Narcisse Street North West in a car and bear sprayed a man staying in a tent.
Police say the male victim was able to partially protect himself from the bear spray and then got into a physical confrontation with two of the three suspects.
However, as the three suspects were leaving, police say the three were struck by the car they arrived in as it was left running at the initial scene. Police do not state how the vehicle was able to strike them. The vehicle was then parked in a nearby parking lot and abandoned, and police have not been able to identify the driver.
