Kamloops Y Dream Home Lottery boasts most valuable grand prize ever

KAMLOOPS – The most expensive Y Dream Home to date is open to the public starting this weekend.

Tickets for the Kamloops Y Dream Home Lottery went on sale Tuesday (April 4) and have been selling quickly. After last year’s popularity, the lottery has added extra value packs for tickets. Both single tickets and value packs are still available but the lotto doesn’t see them lasting long.

CFJC News visited the Juniper Ridge home located at 2197 Coldwater Dr. in Juniper West and here is a sneak peek of this year’s big prize.

Spanning 2,400 square feet, this year’s Y Dream Home offers breathtaking views.

“My favourite part of the house is truly the view,” Bryce Herman, spokesman for the Y Dream Home Lottery told CFJC News. “This view is absolutely spectacular and green belt down below it — so, in general it’s going to be protected.”

It’s the most expensive home to date – valued at $1.38 million. This two-story, three-bedroom, three-bath house features one-of-a-kind wood cabinetry and millwork throughout.

The master bedroom boasts massive windows, a luxury ensuite with a soaker tub, and a walk-in closet.

The kitchen is complete with quartz counters, mosaic and slab backsplash, a built-in hidden fridge and designer appliances.

Down the stairs, a finished basement fit for entertaining, a home gym and two secondary bedrooms.

All of this and it was built to futuristic efficiency standards.

Herman says it was built to Step Code 4, meaning it’s 40 per cent more efficient than a code minimum house.

Open houses take place Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. until June 18.

Tickets for the Y Dream Home Lottery and the 50/50 can be purchased online until June 19. The winning tickets will be drawn at 9:00 a.m. on June 28.
