Blazers fall to Cougars in regular season finale
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers were unable to end the 2022-2023 regular season on a positive note, falling to the Prince George Cougars for the second time in 24 hours in a 3-2 loss in a shootout.
The first period saw both teams not finding the scoresheet until the second period where Hudson Thornton would break the scoreless tie and get Prince George on the board 1-0. The Blazers would respond just three minutes later as Ashton Ferster would pot his 11th on the year to tie things up at one.
Riley Heidt would fire in his 25th of the season at 12:38 of the second to re-gain the lead for the Cougars. However, Emmitt Finnie would help the Blazers tie the game up once more at two with his ninth of the year.
