Man seriously injured after early morning shooting in downtown Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — One man was sent to hospital with serious injuries after shots were fired in downtown Kamloops early Friday (March 24) morning.

In a news release, Kamloops RCMP say they received multiple reports of shots fired at around 2:30 a.m.

Police say they found an insecure home on the 800-block of Battle Street along with signs that at least one firearm had been discharged.

“While the investigation is in its infancy, some of the persons involved are known to police and early indications suggest that this is an isolated incident,” S/Sgt. Troy Durand says.
