MERRITT, B.C. — RCMP investigators say they now believe the disappearance of a Merritt man last month is criminal in nature.

In a news release issued Thursday (March 23), Southeast District RCMP spokesperson Cpl. James Grandy provided an update into the disappearance of 24-year-old Miguel Mack.

Mack was last seen on February 27 and was reported missing on March 3 when his family became concerned after losing contact with him.

Grandy says the Southeast District Major Crime Unit (MCU) was called in early in the investigation.

Having now reviewed all pieces of evidence available, investigators with the unit have concluded Mack’s disappearance “is suspicious and involves criminality.”

Extensive searches have been conducted, including the use of RCMP search dogs, aerial units and drones.

Anyone with further tips into Miguel Mack’s disappearance is asked to contact the RCMP Southeast District MCU tip line at 1 (877) 987-8477.
