Suspected porch pirate arrested red-handed after Dallas spree

KAMLOOPS — A suspicious vehicle report in Dallas Friday (Mar. 10) led Kamloops RCMP to arrest a suspected porch pirate.

In a news release, detachment spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says at about 1:50 p.m. Friday, police were alerted to a suspicious pickup truck on Bostock Place. The witness reported the occupants of the white Ford F-350 driving around the neighbourhood, taking packages from porches as well as other items from yards.

“With the assistance of community members, officers were able to locate the truck near the Wildlife Park, arrest a suspect, recover and return the stolen packages to their intended recipients,” said Evelyn.

A Kamloops woman was arrested and later released with a court date and conditions. Charges are likely to follow.
