Coquihalla highway expecting 10 to 20 centimeters of snowfall

KAMLOOPS — Travelers who are planning to take the Coquihalla highway should drive with caution as snowfall is expected to begin late Sunday afternoon (Mar.12).

Environment Canada says 10 to 20 cm of snow is expected to drop between Hope and Merritt. The snowfall is scheduled to come to a close on Tuesday morning (Mar.14).

Additionally, a mix of rain and snow will occur Sunday evening (Mar.12). The snow will pick up briefly on Monday evening (Mar.13) with temperatures dropping in the process.

As a result, roads could be slippery on Tuesday morning (Mar.14).

Drivers should prepare for quickly changing road conditions as visibility may be reduced at times due to the heavy snow. Travelers can stay up to date with road conditions by checking DriveBC’s website.
