CLINTON, B.C. — B.C.’s police watchdog is investigating a two-vehicle incident near Clinton that left one man and one woman injured.

In a news release, the Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of BC says an off-duty officer driving south in a black Ford SUV was involved in a crash with a white tow truck on Highway 97 Sunday (Feb. 19) at around 11:20 p.m. nearly 10 kilometres south of Clinton.

IIO states that both the off-duty officer and the passenger in the Ford were injured, while the sole occupant of the tow truck was unharmed.

The IIO investigates all officer-related incidents that result in serious harm or death, whether there is any allegation of wrongdoing or not.
