KAMLOOPS — Team British Columbia earned a big 12-4 win over Nunavut on Tuesday (Feb. 21) morning to improve its record at the Scotties to 3-and-2, firmly in the playoff hunt. At last year’s Scotties teams with three losses were able to make the playoffs — four losses is seen as knock-out punch.

On Tuesday morning, Clancy Grandy and her squad were able to steal seven straight points over the course of three ends to put the match out of reach.

Team B.C. had the rest of the day off on Tuesday to prepare for a two game Wednesday.

“We are feeling good, it was a good game today, got a good handle on the ice. We will take that info into tomorrow,” said Grandy.

Next up for B.C. is a game that could go a long way to deciding their playoff fate as they see Wild Card 1 and Kaitlyn Lawes (3-1) in the afternoon draw Wednesday. Despite the sky-high pressure of being the home team, Clancy and company aren’t getting ahead of themselves.

“To be honest, every single game in our pool is so important that we take it all the same. Right from the start of the tournament until now, it’s just every time we can get that win and get that game we are going for it. That is what we will do moving forward.”

Team B.C.’s second game of the day on Wednesday is versus Quebec at 6:30 p.m.
