Cocaine and pot seized in two Highway 97 drug busts

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — A pair of drug busts along Highway 97 in the Cariboo last Thursday (Feb.16).

BC Highway Patrol says the first occurred following a traffic stop on Highway 97 between 100 Mile House and Williams Lake for a Motor Vehicle violation.

“During the stop, the officer discovered the driver was transporting in excess of 250 cannabis plants without proper authorization. All the plants were seized and the driving violations were dealt with,” says Cpl. Serge Bruneau.

On the same day, Williams Lake BC Highway Patrol Unit with the assistance of 100 Mile House IPS, intercepted a northbound SUV on the highway near Lac La Hache for a motor vehicle offence.
