TRU Women’s volleyball fall to 3rd ranked Thunderbirds

KAMLOOPS — On a night where Abby Spratt of the Wolfpack set another record in the women’s volleyball record books, the team was unable to come out with a win on Friday (Feb.17) as they fell to the UBC Thunderbirds 3-0.

Spratt recorded two service aces in Friday’s match to move her past Iuliia Pakhomenko with a school record 136 career aces.

The Thunderbirds came out firing on all cylinders, outscoring the Wolfpack by nine points as they would claim the first set 25-16.

The Wolfpack would put up a battle in the next two sets against UBC, putting up 24 and 22 points in the second and third set respectively. However the consistency of the Thunderbirds would put them well over the edge and prevent TRU from winning a set.
