Caputo, fellow MP Hallan discuss affordable housing at chamber luncheon

KAMLOOPS — A pair of conservative MPs, Frank Caputo of Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo and Jasraj Hallan of Calgary Forest Lawn, met at the Chamber of Commerce on Friday (Feb.17) to address the lack of affordable housing.

Part of the discussion was on tackling the continuous of issues that have occurred, including inflation and housing. In addition, with the increase in population across not only Kamloops but Canada as well, Caputo says there are a lack of houses being built and voiced his solutions.

“One of the key things that (Conservative leader) Pierre Polievre has mentioned is tying federal funding through municipal and provisional initiatives to get houses built,” said Caputo. “Right now, it takes years to get houses built through the permitting phase.”
