TRU Women’s basketball fall to Bisons in Rouault’s final game
KAMLOOPS — On a night where the Wolfpack honoured Megan Rouault in her final game as she wraps up a six year career in U-Sport women’s basketball, they were unable to get a victory in their final game of the regular season as the Manitoba Bisons defeated the Wolfpack 89-45 on Saturday (Feb.11) at the TCC.
The Wolfpack got off to a slow start in the first quarter, scoring only 12 points with the help of Rouault who scored six of them. The Bisons took advantage of the Wolfpack’s slow start as they would fire 28 points in the first quarter to lead 28-12.
The Bisons would keep their foot on the gas going into the second quarter, scoring 23 points total with the help of Lauryn Manaigre, who was perfect from downtown by knocking down two three-pointers as her club would go up 51-20 heading into the first half.
Rouault continued her shooting spree in the third quarter for the Wolfpack, going 2-3 in the field goal range. But the Bisons would continue a shooting spree of their own as Keziah Brothers, also playing in the final game of her U-Sport career scored seven of the team’s 21 points in the third as they lead 72-31 going into the fourth.
