TRU receives a financial boost for mobile healthcare training unit
KAMLOOPS — A mobile healthcare training unit will soon provide in-person clinical training to Thompson Rivers University (TRU) healthcare students living in rural B.C.
In a news release Wednesday (Feb. 8) morning, TRU says a $200,000 donation from TD Bank Group will fund the mobile lab and make learning easier for students in any of its nursing or health programs.
“A shortage of nurses and health-care providers means people — especially those living in rural areas — are not getting the care they require,” Rani Srivastava, Dean of Nursing at TRU says. “Thanks to TD’s support, our Mobile Health Care Simulation Lab can be part of the solution to develop capacity within communities.”
