KAMLOOPS — Residents, non-profits and charities focused on community-based climate action projects in Kamloops could be eligible for city funding.
In a news release issued Wednesday (Feb. 1), the City of Kamloops says $20,000 has been set aside to support grants valued at up to $2,000.
In order to be successful, the City says applications must demonstrate how the proposed project will:
- provide a direct benefit to the community
- support carrying out the Community Climate Action Plan
- improve resiliency to climate change and/or reduce GHG emissions
- foster neighbourhood pride and/or community wellness
- respect the principles of equity and climate justice
