KAMLOOPS — An early morning traffic stop for a missing license plate turned into a significant drug seizure for Kamloops RCMP.

At about 3:40 a.m. Tuesday (Jan. 17), a patrolling officer around Cornwall Street and Kent Avenue on the North Shore pulled a vehicle over after noticing it did not have a front license plate.

In the process of the stop, the officer noted the man had a can of bear spray in the back seat of the vehicle.

“Further investigation led to the discovery of several different kinds of suspected drugs, including seven grams of fentanyl, approximately 32 grams of meth, 44 grams of cocaine, and 25 pills, also believed to be controlled drugs and substances,” noted Cpl. Crystal Evelyn. “All were seized, along with the bear spray.”
