Salmon Arm among the top growth cities in Canada: U-Haul

SALMON ARM, B.C. — U-Haul says people are eager to move to Salmon Arm.

Every year, the truck rental company releases statistics showing where people are heading with their possessions. The company bases its rankings on the destinations listed for one-way rentals.

In 2022, Salmon Arm ranked 19th among all Canadian cities. U-Haul says the number of rentals headed to Salmon Arm increased by 42.1 per cent year-over-year. Departures only increased by 35.2 per cent.

The most popular city in Canada is Chatham, Ontario, followed by Trois Rivieres, Quebec.

U-Haul says this is the first time Salmon Arm has been in the company’s growth rankings since 2019. It joins B.C. cities Kelowna (#5), Chilliwack (#10), Penticton (#21) and North Vancouver (#23) on the Canada-wide list.
