At about 6:20 p.m. on Friday, RCMP officers and the detachment’s Police Dog Service Unit responded to the report of a break-and-enter in progress in the 7200-block of Furrer Road in Dallas.

As officers were en route, they were provided with updates and a description, in part thanks to a remote surveillance system. A man was arrested not far away.

A theft from motor vehicle incident led to a physical altercation Friday morning.

At about 10:30 a.m. Friday, police were called to the 800-block of Notre Dame Drive. A man on the lookout for sporting goods that had been stolen from his vehicle allegedly found two people attempting to sell the goods.

The rightful owner chased after the alleged thief until an officer arrived and took the culprit into custody.

A second suspect, a female, is still on the loose. The male suspect has a court date.

Anyone who has information related to the initial theft investigation, which took place overnight Dec. 29-30 from a black car in the 1200-block of Rogers Way, is asked to call Kamloops RCMP.

Weapons complaint

Officers seized two BB guns and a crossbow after a complaint in Aberdeen on New Year’s Day.

At about 8:25 a.m. Sunday, officers were told of a woman who took a pistol out of a bag and buried it in snow.

After police found and arrested a suspect, they seized the BB guns and crossbow.

The suspect was later released.
