Dec 29, 2022 | 5:41 AM

UPDATE (8:20 a.m.): All fog advisories in B.C. have been lifted.

UPDATE (7:15 a.m.): Environment Canada ended fog advisories for the Coquihalla Highway from Kamloops to Merritt, and many regions in B.C.’s Interior.

However, the alert remains in effect for 100 Mile and North Thompson regions, and Highway 97 from Clinton to 100 Mile House.

EARLIER: KAMLOOPS — Stretches of dense fog are expected to take away drivers’ visibility in parts of B.C.’s Interior Thursday (Dec. 29) morning.

In an online statement, Environment Canada issued fog advisories for the Coquihalla Highway from Kamloops to Merritt and Highway 97 from Clinton to 100 Mile House. Fog advisories are also in effect for the 100 Mile, Cariboo, Fraser Canyon, North and South Thompson, and Shuswap regions.

According to the weather agency, clearing skies Wednesday (Dec. 28) night caused dense fog to form, although it is expected to disappear Thursday morning with the help of southeast winds.

However, Environment Canada warns visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero amid the fog.
