KAMLOOPS — Residents hoping to fly between Kamloops and Vancouver Tuesday (Dec. 20) morning received an untimely surprise.

According to Kamloops Airport’s (YKA) online flight status, three flights from Kamloops to Vancouver have been cancelled: Air Canada at 6 a.m., Air Canada at 10:20 a.m., and WestJet at 12:45 p.m.

Additionally, two arrivals to Kamloops from Vancouver – Air Canada at 9:45 a.m. and WestJet at 12:15 p.m. – are cancelled.

Elsewhere, a WestJet flight departing from YKA to Calgary at 6:05 a.m. has also been cancelled.

In a social media post early Tuesday, Vancouver Airport (YVR) states numerous flights from Vancouver have been delayed or cancelled due to heavy snow and low visibility, causing congestion on its airfield.

YVR says it has suspended all its arriving flights while staff deplane passengers and deliver them their luggage.
