Nicola Valley Hospital ER closed until Wednesday morning

UPDATE (Tuesday): In a late news release Monday, Interior Health said the emergency department at Nicola Valley Hospital would resume normal operations at 1 a.m. Tuesday (Dec. 20), a day ahead of what it had originally planned.

EARLIER: MERRITT — Interior Health is notifying residents in the Merritt area that the Nicola Vallley Hospital’s emergency department will be closed until Wednesday (Dec. 21) at 8:00 a.m.

The ER is closed as of 4:00 p.m. Monday (Dec. 19).

During this time, all other inpatient services will continue as normal at Nicola Valley Hospital.

People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care should call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.
