Alcohol and speed potential factors in highway crash between Quesnel and Williams Lake: RCMP
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — BC Highway Patrol says alcohol and speed may have been a factor in a two-vehicle crash on the Cariboo Highway Saturday (Dec. 10) night.
In a news release issued Tuesday (Dec. 13), police say Williams Lake RCMP were called to Highway 97N at MacAlister Road between Quesnel and Williams Lake at 8 p.m. where they found a tractor trailer laying on its side and a pickup truck in a ditch nearby.
Police say the occupants of both vehicles were treated by emergency services.
Sgt. Jason Nash of Williams Lake Highway Patrol says drivers should slow down when there is poor road conditions and visibility on the highways and give themselves enough time to reach their destination. He also says people should not drive when under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
