Funds from Ashcroft RCMP and Fire Department charity game going to Honour Ranch

ASHCROFT, B.C. — Ashcroft RCMP and Fire Department will drop the puck on a charity hockey game in support of Honour Ranch.

The RCMP and Fire Department will play their “Guns and Hoses” hockey game on Jan. 21, 2023, at Drylands Arena in Ashcroft.

In a news release, RCMP say the game will include prize competitions, including on-ice hijinks, to raise funds for the ranch between Ashcroft and Logan Lake that provides mental health supports to first responders and military personnel from across Canada.

“Ashcroft Fire Chief, Josh White, was unavailable for comment at this time as he was probably cowering in fear in a corner somewhere,” Cst. Chris Buckland with BC Highway Patrol in Ashcroft and captain of the Guns team says. “In all seriousness, Honour Ranch is an invaluable service, and we hope you can support them through your donations and by attending the game on Jan. 21.”
