WolfPack men’s basketball team gets huge win over Griffins, women lose narrow battle

KAMLOOPS — The Men’s TRU WolfPack Basketball squad came away with a victory over the visiting Grant MacEwen Griffins, while the Women’s team fell in a tight-fought battle.

On the women’s side, the 69-61 affair was a nailbiter to watch for WolfPack fans with the Griffins ultimately coming away with the win.

The men’s game was a different outcome as the Griffins’ men’s team couldn’t handle the WolfPack as TRU dominated them 99-61.

Multiple players for the men’s WolfPack squad set new career highs as lead guard Daniel Bost scored 19 for the ‘Pack.

Tyler Schilling added 11 points, Ree Compton had eight and Reuben Wright had eight.

Danijela Kovacevic led the WolfPack women in points with 15 in their game, while Megan Rouault and Makeba Taylor each added 10 points.

The women’s team now sits with a record heading into the semester break with a record of 1-7.

TRU’s men’s team ended the semester on a high note riding a three-game winning streak and now sit at 3-5 on the season. The Griffins’ men’s basketball team heads into their winter break remaining winless to start the season at 0-10.
