Two stolen high-end mountain bikes found in Kamloops, two more still missing
KAMLOOPS — A pair of high-end mountain bikes were sent home after they were recently found in Kamloops.
In a news release issued Tuesday (Nov. 29), Kamloops RCMP say four mountain bikes – valued at around $30,000 – were stolen from the back of an RV parked on River Street on Aug. 27, 2022.
Nearly two months later on Oct. 22, 2022, police say an officer was patrolling Tenth Avenue when he saw a woman next to one of the stolen bikes. Three days later, on Oct. 25, officers were told of a stolen bike spotted at Sahali Mall parking lot, leading them to recover another of the four mountain bikes.
“Two more of the bikes remain outstanding, but these two were turned over to a friend of the tourists to ship back home – at least one of which will be taking the long journey to New Zealand,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says.
