20 to 35 centimetres of snow expected for Coquihalla Highway and Okanagan Connector

KAMLOOPS — A pair of winter storm warnings are in effect for highways in our region tonight (Nov. 29) and tomorrow (Nov. 30).

Environment Canada says the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt and the Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Kelowna could see 20 to 35 centimetres of snow during that time, creating hazardous conditions on the roads.

Additionally, blowing snow will reduce visibility on the Connector during that time.

It’s due to a low-pressure system moving onto Vancouver Island today.
