KAMLOOPS — The Mustard Seed is hoping to raise $500,000 prior to the start of the 12 Days of Giving campaign in December.

In a news release issued Monday (Nov. 28), the Mustard Seed says it’s partaking in Giving Tuesday – a global fundraising event that occurs on Tuesday, Nov. 29 after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The Mustard Seed says Giving Tuesday and the 12 Days of Giving will be its focus heading into the holiday season.

“In addition to the drop-off locations for needed winter items, financial support from the community makes a difference,” Kelly Thomson, Mustard Seed Kamloops managing director says. “This allows us to fill in other needed items that may not make it into the donation boxes.”

The Mustard Seed says contributions to Giving Tuesday will go to help provide 350,000 meals in communities it’s in for people who are struggling with poverty and food insecurity.
