Blazers lose OT battle 3-2 to Winterhawks

PORTLAND — The Kamloops Blazers lost a hard-fought 3-2 overtime nailbiter to the Portland Winterhawks.

Ryan McCleary was the OT hero for Portland near the end of the extra period giving the Winterhawks their 16th win of the year.

The win extends Portland’s lead as they sit at the top of the WHL Western Conference Standings.

On the Blazers’ front, it drops them to a 9-4-3-1 record good for the fifth seed in the west behind Prince George.
