KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops will send one more representative to the Thompson-Nicola Regional District Board of Directors during the upcoming term.

At its regular meeting Tuesday afternoon (Nov. 15), council voted 7-1 in favour of increasing its representation on the TNRD board from six to seven. Along with Mayor Reid Hamer-Jackson, the six top vote-getting councillors will sit on the TNRD board, which holds its first meeting of the new term on Thursday.

The city became eligible for a seventh representative thanks to an increase in population.

Each City of Kamloops director will receive a weighted vote on money issues. Councillors receive a stipend of about $15,000.
