Westsyde traffic stop yields drugs, weapons
KAMLOOPS — RCMP conducting a traffic stop in Westsyde got a surprise when they looked inside the vehicle they had pulled over.
In a news release, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the stop was made early Wednesday morning (Nov. 9) at about 2:15 a.m.
A patrolling officer pulled over a white Ford Mustang to confirm the driver was licensed. Upon looking inside the vehicle, the officer noticed an axe handle near the driver’s seat.
“The woman was arrested for offences including possession of a prohibited weapon,” said Evelyn. “A further search located… drugs.”
