KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP are investigating after a tent was found burnt on the North Shore Wednesday (Nov. 9) morning.

In a news release, police say an officer was patrolling near the 400-block of Tranquille Road at around 9:30 a.m. where a resident approached them about the resident of the tent behind a business that caught fire the night before. Police say no signs of human remains were found.

“In order to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure no one had perished in the blaze, police blocked the area and requested Kamloops Fire Rescue attend,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says. “The fire department also confirmed it extinguished the fire around 3:00 a.m. that morning and that no was located in or around the tent.”

Anyone with information related to the fire is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP.
