Kamloops property owner assaulted after confronting theft suspects
KAMLOOPS — RCMP are looking for tips after a frightening early morning assault in the Sagebrush neighbourhood.
In a news release, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the incident happened at 5:45 a.m. Monday (Nov. 7). Officers were called to the 1300-block of Pine Crescent after someone saw fresh footprints leading to a home under construction.
“The property owner followed the footsteps and located a man inside the residential property,” said Evelyn. “According to the report, a struggle occurred, followed by a brief chase, during which the suspect allegedly struck the victim in the head with a blunt tool.”
The victim was injured, but the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
