Kamloops drivers asked to avoid travel plans amid ‘treacherous’ snowy conditions
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops residents are asked to avoid travel plans until current snowy conditions improve.
In a news release Sunday (Nov. 6) evening, Kamloops RCMP say road conditions in Kamloops are “treacherous.” This comes as Highway 1 was briefly closed overnight from Sunday at around 11:30 p.m. to around 1:40 a.m. Monday (Nov. 7) due to multiple semi-trucks being stuck between Summit Drive and Highway 5A.
School District 73 says all bus routes are cancelled Monday due to the unsafe road conditions.
A snowfall warning from Environment Canada remains in effect for the South Thompson and Nicola regions Monday morning. The weather agency says snow is expected to ease in the afternoon.
