Pair of collisions halt stretches of Coquihalla Highway over the weekend
KAMLOOPS — A pair of collisions impacted traffic on the Coquihalla Highway over the weekend.
DriveBC first reported of a vehicle incident between Helmer Road and the Highway 5 intersection with Highway 97D at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 22). BC Emergency Health Services (EHS) say six vehicles were involved and two patients were transported to hospital in stable condition.
DriveBC reported the stretch of Highway 5 was clear shortly before midnight Saturday. CFJC Today contacted the BC Coroners Service to confirm if there were fatalities from the scene.
A night prior, EHS responded to the Coquihalla Summit shortly before midnight on Friday (Oct. 21) where two semi trucks lost control. EHS says one ambulance responded but no one needed or wanted transportation to hospital.
