MERRITT, B.C. — Heading into the fall, the City of Merritt released a map of their plans for road repairs and maintenance.

“Most of this roadwork comprises road grading and pot-hole pavement work, as well as shoulder grading and gravel rebuilding.” City officials wrote in a release. “There are some complete road repairs planned and a small section requiring sidewalk and curb rebuild. All work scheduled is only to repair roads and pathways affected by the flood. Current work planned does not include improvements.”

According to the City, residents that notice any flood impacted areas, that are not identified in the plans, may submit a request for assessment prior to Oct. 28. Officials say they are only considering flood impacted zones, and any additional projects will occur in 2023 after current planned repairs are done.

The map of work planned is expected to take place between fall 2022 to summer 2023.
