KAMLOOPS — Nearly 2,500 City of Kamloops residents have already cast their ballots in the municipal election.

According to Courtney Ranger, deputy chief election officer with the City of Kamloops, turnout to advance polling stations on Saturday (Oct. 8) was 1,276 — 583 at Heritage House and 693 at the McArthur Island Sports Centre Lounge.

This follows a combined 1,166 on the first day of advance voting, Oct. 5.

The total of 2,442 ballots cast over the first two days of advance voting is nearly twice the 1,237 cast after the first two days of advance polling in the 2018 election. However, in 2018, only one advance polling location was open.
