Weekend for Kamloops RCMP includes downtown assault and pedestrian struck by vehicle

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP responded to approximately 390 public complaints from midnight Friday (Sept. 23) to 9:00 a.m. Monday (Sept. 26). Below are some incidents police attended.

Downtown assault

A man was found injured in downtown Kamloops early Friday morning.

At around 7:45 a.m., Kamloops RCMP say they assisted ambulance with a call involving a man who had been struck with a blunt object on the 40-block of Victoria Street West.

Police say no suspect description was given.

Downtown collision

RCMP say a man was taken to hospital with minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle downtown late Sunday night.

Officers were called to the 400-block of Victoria Street West where an intoxicated person was allegedly crouched down in the pedestrian crosswalk when they were struck.

Police say the driver remained on scene.
