CSRD board approves supporting North Shuswap Health Centre with new Area ‘F’ tax
SCOTCH CREEK, B.C. — Starting next year, North Shuswap residents will prop up the local health centre through their property tax dollars.
Last week, the Columbia-Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) Board of Directors voted to add a tax contribution for Electoral Area ‘F’ property owners which will go toward the operation of the North Shuswap Health Centre in Scotch Creek.
An Alternative Approval Process wrapped up with the signatures of only 105 resident opponents — less than half of the number required to nix the proposal.
According to the CSRD, the average home in Electoral Area ‘F’, assessed at $410,968 in value, could see up to an additional $25.16 on its 2023 tax bill.
