Kamloops students participate in district’s Terry Fox runs
KAMLOOPS — Thousands of students from across the Kamloops-Thompson School District honoured Canadian hero Terry Fox during a run at each of their schools on Friday afternoon (Sept. 23).
At Pacific Way Elementary, the intermediate students started at the school and ran through Highland Park, while the primary kids motored around the softball diamonds. For each student taking part, Fox’s Marathon of Hope means something special.
“I think Terry Fox was an amazing individual who not only ran for himself to become famous. He wasn’t even trying to become famous; he was running for other children and people that were suffering from cancer,” said Pac Way student Anna Hahn.
